Americana At The Movies: Watch The ‘Blaze’ Trailer Starring Kris Kristofferson And More

You might not recognize the name Blaze Foley, but that’s about to change. The (semi)-forgotten Americana singer’s career and memory were preserved by his contemporaries back in Austin, Texas in the mid ’70s, among them Townes Van Zandt.

Now, in a new film directed by Ethan Hawk, the burly and divisive country singer is finally going to get his due.

Foley is played by musician and actor Ben Dickey while his father is played by Kris Kristofferson. And they aren’t the only musicians to star in the film — Hurray For The Riff Raff’s Alynda Segarra and singer Charlie Sexton also carry prominent roles in Blaze.
