The Legendary Stone Pony and Blackbird Presents Join Forces
The Stone Pony and Blackbird Presents join forces to bring a new experience to the Asbury Park music scene.
Asbury Park’s legendary The Stone Pony and Blackbird Presents—a worldwide leader in the production of large-scale concert events, broadcast specials, TV series, music festivals and tours— are thrilled to announce that they have joined forces to bring a customized one-stop-shop experience to the music lovers of Asbury Park and concert goers of The Stone Pony. The two iconic music entities are set to join forces on April 1, 2019 where Blackbird Presents’ flagship boutique in downtown Asbury Park will host a downtown satellite box office location, selling tickets to Stone Pony and Stone Pony Summer Stage concerts. Tickets to Asbury Park’s Wonder Bar, Paramount Theatre and Convention Hall will also be available. The boutique retail shop and gallery, located at 651 Cookman Avenue, is just steps from the New Jersey Transit Asbury Park train station, making a convenient experience for both local and out of town music lovers to stop in, browse and purchase tickets en route to a show.
Tickets at the Blackbird Presents box office will be available weekdays 10am – 6pm, with extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays from 10am – 9pm and on Sundays 12pm – 5pm. Payment by credit card will only be accepted and all tickets purchased through Blackbird Presents will be available digitally via smartphone. Ticket purchasers will also receive a limited edition co-branded Blackbird Presents and The Stone Pony drink koozie, (available while supplies last).
In addition to concert tickets, the hip-meets-rock & roll chic boutique will also sell merchandise from The Stone Pony amongst its current one-of-a-kind selection of apparel, limited edition gig posters, photographs, and exclusive concert merchandise. The Stone Pony will also sell Blackbird Presents merchandise during Summer Stage and exclusive co-branded apparel available for sale at both locations.
“We are excited to join forces with the team at The Stone Pony, one of music’s most iconic venues, bringing fans more access to tickets and merchandise in the heart of downtown Asbury,” states Keith Wortman, CEO Blackbird Presents.
The concept came about in 2018 when The Stone Pony’s General Manager, Caroline O’Toole and Social Media Coordinator, Kayla Tracey had lunch at Taka, a restaurant located in downtown Asbury Park, directly across the street from the flagship Blackbird Presents boutique location. Naturally being drawn to all things music, the two decided to stop in and introduce themselves. And what would come next would entail two big names in music joining forces.
“For this partnership to be able to happen right here in Asbury Park, is just one more reason to see how music helps drive our city’s ongoing vision,” says Caroline O’Toole.
The Stone Pony will be bringing the action outside for its wildly popular annual Stone Pony Summer Stage, kicking off on Saturday May 11, 2019 with the best shows of the summer played by renowned national touring acts from across the country, attracting tens of thousands of fans to the Jersey shore. Blackbird Presents will begin selling tickets for shows at The Stone Pony and The Stone Pony Summer Stage series starting April 1st. The season lineup includes artists like, Coheed and Cambria & Mastadon, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, Ben Folds & Violent Femmes, and Papa Roach, to name a few.
