Singer-songwriter Ryan Adams joined southern jazz royalty in a captivating and soulful rendition of the epic Rolling Stones legendary double album Exile on Main St., titled “Exile on Bourbon St,” in New Orleans on May 5, 2018. The set included the album in its entirety, including famed songs like “Tumbling Dice,” “Shine A Light,” and “Loving Cup.”

Alongside Adams stood iconic bass-player, musical director, and Rolling Stones producer Don Was. The lineup also featured Cyril Neville of The Neville Brothers, keyboard masters John Medeski and Ben Alleman, funk drummer Terence Higgins, background vocalists Regina and Ann McCrary, Ryan Adams’ touring guitar player Todd Wisenbaker, and horns star Mark Mullins and the Levee Horns composed of trumpeter Bobby Campo and tenor saxophone genius Alonzo Bowens. Rolling Stones’ saxophonist Karl Denson made a surprise guest appearance on “Rip This Joint.”

Adams’ completed his set with an encore performance of “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking,” “The Worst,” and “Sway.” The crowed emptied out onto Canal Street to find a complimentary beignet tent, reflecting on the culinary arts of the jazz capital of the country.

The sold-out performance was produced by New York-based concert and media production company Blackbird Presents, in partnership with Live Nation. As a part of the company’s fifth year producing iconic and jam-packed shows on the second weekend of Jazz Fest, the inspiring concert event was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the fans.
