Eric Church Returns: Country Star Announces New Record ‘Desperate Man’

Eric Church is back! This morning, the country singer-songwriter announced his impending album, Desperate Man. The lead single (also titled “Desperate Man”) can be heard right now if you’re a member of the singer’s Church Choir fan club. It will receive a wide release on Friday, July 13.

According to Rolling Stone Country, the song was co-written with Ray Wylie Hubbard and features elements of funk, Southern rock, and classic Bakersfield guitar.

In the grainy clip below, Church speaks directly to his fans saying that “it’s been a while” but that he’s excited to finally share new music. Desperate Man hits record stores on October 5 and is the artists’s latest release since 2015’s Mr. Misunderstood.

Church has been featured on several Blackbird Presents events in the past, partnering with the company on American Roots Music & Arts Festival and as a featured performer on Imagine: John Lennon, Outlaw: Celebrating The Music Of Waylon Jennings, The Life & Songs Of Kris Kristofferson and more.
