Watch Margo Price and Brandi Carlile Perform Dolly Parton’s ‘9 to 5’
Newport Folk Festival 2018 proved to be quite the hit filled with surprise performances, amazing duets, and the best folk and Americana your brain can conjure. It was also where our friends Margo Price and Brandi Carlile split singing duties on “9 to 5,” the Dolly Parton classic.
“9 to 5” was the lead single that came out of the 1980 feature film of the same name. It was Dolly Parton’s big screen debut alongside stars Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda and has since become a pop culture force unto itself. There are even rumors of a reboot on the horizon.
In the video below, Price and Carlile absolutely nail their version of the song. Heck, even Dolly herself enjoyed it, tweeting out her approval of the cover tune!
