ABOUT GREGG ALLMAN
Gregg Allman is one of the most acclaimed and beloved icons in rock and roll history. A founding member of the Allman Brothers Band and successful solo artist in his own right, Allman possesses a voice that has resonated through four decades; a voice that once heard is never forgotten. A legendary songwriter who expresses visceral human feelings in words and music—joy and despair, dreams and nightmares, loneliness and love–Gregg Allman writes from the heart and touches the soul.
At the 54thAnnual Grammy Awards in 2012, the ABB was honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, in part a celebration of the 40th anniversary of the group’s seminal double album Eat a Peach. Gregg himself, inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1995, was also nominated for Best Blues Album of 2011 for his first solo record in 13 years, the captivating Low Country Blues.
Allman’s critically acclaimed tell-all memoir, My Cross To Bear, was a New York Times Bestseller for several weeks and is now available in both hardcover and paperback. A film based on the book is currently in production. A recent spokesperson for the Tune In To Hep-C campaign, Allman continues to tour for much of every year, both with the Brothers and with his solo band. He is currently working on a new solo record.
